After receiving an undergraduate degree from Oberlin College in Ohio and completing a two year stint as a Peace Corps volunteer in West Africa, Dr. Simões decided to pursue veterinary medicine. In 2009 she graduated from the UC Davis Veterinary school.
Wanting to further expand her medical knowledge and skills, Dr. Simões completed a one year internship at the Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group in Ventura, CA. In the spring of 2011, Dr. Simões joined NPVC and is thrilled to be a part of such a dedicated and compassionate team.
In addition to traveling around the world, Dr. Simões enjoys volunteering at spay/neuter clinics, working with Alaskan sled dogs, wine-tasting, and cooking Portuguese food. Her medical interests include all aspects of dermatology, shelter medicine, and dentistry.
Dr. Simões lives with Oscar, the howling Rottweiler, Frankie, a three-legged Terrier, and Eloise, a blind but mischievous kitty!
